How to Choose a Grain Sampling Probe

If the sample does not represent the truck, no analysis that follows can represent the truth. Every protein reading, every gluten index, every falling number rests on one thing: whether the grain in your laboratory is a fair reflection of the grain in the vehicle. That is what a grain sampling probe decides and choosing the wrong one costs you accuracy on every test you run afterwards.

Why manual sampling fails

A load of wheat is never uniform. Vibration during transport redistributes moisture, impurities, pests and grain size across different layers. A hand-held spear reaches 30–50 cm the surface. Everything that settled at the bottom of the truck, including sunn pest damage and heavy impurities, is never seen.

An automatic vacuum probe reaches the floor of the vehicle and draws from multiple points. That is the entire difference between a sample and a guess.

Sampling Probe 10000 the workhorse

The Sampling Probe 10000 performs 100% representative sampling from trucks, ships, lorries and wagons, covering cereals, legumes, oil seeds and feed raw materials. If you are replacing manual spear sampling at a standard mill intake, this is where you start.

Sampling Probe 10100 extended reach

The Sampling Probe 10100 is built for busier intake points and wider vehicles. It takes representative samples from 6 different points in around 40 seconds fast enough to eliminate the truck queues that form at harvest, without compromising the sample.

Sampling Probe 10200 the flagship

The Sampling Probe 10200 is a fully automatic probe that positions itself over the vehicle without an operator. Designed for ports, terminals and large mills where intake volume is continuous, it samples trucks and ships alike.

Hand Held Sampling 10500 portable

The Hand Held Sampling Probe 10500 vacuums samples from heaps and storage where a fixed installation is impossible — hazelnut, wheat, corn, legumes and oilseeds. Its 1-metre pipe sections work even in low-ceiling warehouses, and it draws from 5–9 m depth. One operator, one device, up to 9 kg of sample at a time.

Not grain: the fertilizer and coal probes

Two models in the range are built for other industries. The Sampling Probe 10350 takes representative fertilizer samples from trucks, lorries, ships and wagons. The Sampling Probe 10400 does the same for coal, serving energy plants, petrochemical facilities and maritime logistics.

Both use the same patented spiral/helix probe system the first patented and internationally approved system of its kind in Turkey and the world.

Once the sample is in the laboratory, the chain continues: the Sample Divider 13000 reduces it to a homogeneous sub-sample at ±1% accuracy, and the Hectoliter 7000 determines grain density to the international standard.
